A web series about a serial killer? An old guy approaching 50 and not some cute-but-angry teenager? I must be crazy, right? Who's gonna watch? I don't know...you, maybe? Who watched "Silence of the Lambs"? People who know that people like Hannibal Lechter are really out there...only the real guys are SMARTER than Hannibal Lechter. Why? 'Cause Hannibal got caught and these guys never will. Why? They don't look like monsters, they look and act like Uncle Bob, unless you're the victim that invites Uncle Bob's dark monster to come out and play. The fact is, no matter how gruesome these guys are, they do not spend most of their time killing. They may think about it a lot, fantasize about it, but on the outside, they move through their lives just like you and me. That's what's fascinating to me. I developed a television series (that never got on the air, btw) with John Douglas of "Manhunter" fame. If you read Jon's books, you will be amused at the absurdity and sickness of reasoning of his subjects. That's where I'm trying to take "Bill". What makes it harder is that Bill, unlike Dexter, kills people who do not deserve to die. It's a work-in-progress, but we'll see how far we get and whether there's any laughs to be had.
